Church Notre Dame

Built in the 12th century, it is one of the most famous Romanesque churches to have made the Saintonge region famous.
You can admire its richly decorated and sculpted façade, which was restored in 2011.
Among the remarkable decorations is the capital on the left of the façade representing the ‘grand goule’, a legendary dragon, as well as the modillions. Musicians, an archer, a juggler and fabulous animals welcome you.
Equally remarkable are the elegant apse, the capitals of the three windows and the seigniorial chapels.
