Women in the spotlight: African Mma statuettes from Côte d'Ivoire

Brought back from the Ivory Coast at the end of the 19th century by naval officer Anselme Bellot, the three Mma statuettes have enriched the Musée Hèbre's collections, thanks to a donation made following his death in 1911. Made by experienced potters, they are exhibited as part of funeral rites. Both objects of art and worship, they invite us to get closer to the Agni culture.
