Open Day at the Atlantic Marshes Forum

  • Following the signing of the Ramsar Convention on 02 February 1971, wetlands are highlighted every February through events organised both in France and internationally. To mark the occasion, the FMA has planned a whole day dedicated to these remarkable environments!

    On the programme:

    10am: Opening of the day in the presence of Benoît Biteau, Member of Parliament, Rémi Justinien, President of the FMA, Hervé Blanché, President of the Communauté d'Agglomération Rochefort Océan and Mayor...

    On the programme:

    10am: Opening of the day in the presence of Benoît Biteau, Member of Parliament, Rémi Justinien, President of the FMA, Hervé Blanché, President of the Communauté d'Agglomération Rochefort Océan and Mayor of Rochefort, and Frédérique Tuffnell, Vice-President of the Association Ramsar France.

    10.30am: Animation of the EPTB Charente watershed model (between 15 and 30 minutes)

    11am: Animation of a Fresco of Wetlands (1h to 1h30 - 10 places)

    2pm: ‘Who's behind the cry?’ quiz on the theme of the animals of the Charente-Maritime marshes (between 15 and 30 minutes - 20 places)

    2.30pm: Animation of the EPTB Charente model of the catchment area (between 15 and 30 minutes)

    3pm: Conference on ‘Plants of the mudflats of Charente Maritime’ with Anne Richard, from the association A fleur de marée (planned: around an hour's presentation followed by a discussion - 100 places)

    4.30pm: Animation of the EPTB Charente watershed model (between 15 and 30 minutes)

    5pm: Screening of the documentary film ‘Sentinelles’ by Laurent Buchemeyer, in the presence of Raphaël Musseau from BioSphère Environnement (head of the GPS monitoring programme for the White Storks of Charente-Maritime, who is featured in the documentary), followed by a discussion with Raphaël Musseau (planned: 50-minute screening followed by an hour's discussion - 100 places).

    Around 8pm: End of the day

    At the same time, young and old alike will be able to enjoy a guided tour of the FMA's documentation centre, find out more about wetlands thanks to the exhibitions ‘Carbone bleu’ (© LIENSs - CNRS / La Rochelle University with the support of the CPER-Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine) and ‘Regards croisés en zones humides littorales’ (© FMA), and have fun with games and crafts related to wetlands and their inhabitants.
