Meet and chat with Chanouga

A great lover of history and maritime heritage, Chanouga discovered by chance the edifying adventure of Narcisse Pelletier, and the extraordinary destiny of this 19th-century sailor became the theme of his Narcisse trilogy. Volume 1, ‘Mémoire d'outre-monde’, was published in 2014, followed in 2015 by the second volume, ‘Terra Nullius’, the Australian interlude of his young hero abandoned in Aboriginal lands. ‘Vents contraires’, the final part of the Narcisse trilogy, recounts the “third life” of the shipwrecked Vendéen, that of a white man torn from his adopted Aboriginal family, with whom he lived for seventeen years. It's the story of his return to civilisation, in the context of the triumphant colonialism of a France where he will forever be the white man who committed the unforgivable act of abandoning his culture and religion to become a savage.
The meeting will be followed by a book signing.
