  • To protect people and property, a protective dyke is currently being built along the Avenue Libération between the commercial port and the Pont Rouge. It will also enable cyclists and pedestrians to walk safely over the Charente. Particular care is being taken on this project, which must take account of the historic features in place, such as the masonry embankments, as well as the planting and uses associated with the river.
