  • Situated between Fouras-les-Bains, Pointe de la Fumée and the Ile d'Aix, surrounded by water at high tide, Fort Enet was built under the First Empire to protect the channel and the Charente estuary, thus protecting the Rochefort arsenal. As well as its historical and architectural interest, Fort Enet offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Charente estuary.
    Fort Enet can be reached on the ebb tide from the Pointe de la Fumée.

    Access to the fort is only possible during paid guided tours, organised from April to September according to the tides, and booked in advance with the Rochefort Océan Tourist Office.
    The tour will be cancelled if there are fewer than 10 participants.
