Entertainment: 4.7% freedom

After last season's Ne pas finir comme Roméo et Juliette, Samuel Hercule and Métilde Weyergans return to La Coupe d'Or with a new contemporary fable, a free digression from Mr Seguin's Goat. It's a laugh-out-loud poetic tale, and a vibrant tribute to the quest for freedom, courage and transgression that runs through the tale.

Axelle and Axel, university statisticians with multiple degrees, are an unusual couple who spend most of their time rationalising everything. What they also know intimately is that they are one of the 14% of couples who are unable to have children.

They decided to become foster parents and opened the door of their little house nestling in the Vercors to Blanquette, a rebellious teenager and fan of horror films and hula hoops. Despite all their knowledge, Axel and Axelle find themselves at a loss when faced with this teenager who doesn't fit into any of their boxes. Blanquette dreams of freedom. Like Mr Seguin's goat, she won't hesitate to cut her rope to live free, even if it means paying the price.

Six young performers bring to life, with dazzling accuracy, the offbeat adventures of these characters confronted with the chance and the inexplicable that shape our lives. Immersed in a comic-book aesthetic (with sound effects, music, etc.), the play unfolds the illusions of a theatre that grips the heart with such intelligence and delicacy.
