The Collectif du Prélude is taking this great classic of the theatre repertoire and turning it into a free and inventive play. For these singular artists have no intention of presenting a traditional vision of this work. The show they have devised is lively, playful and explosive...
In the space of an hour, the six performers in Tempête tell not one, but two stories. That of the play written by Shakespeare in 1610, and that of the actors who, today, have to deal with the hazards of a performance that doesn't quite go according to plan. Whimsical sets and props, fans suddenly out of control, a broken musical soundtrack... Everything goes wrong. Everything goes wrong. The audience becomes the artists' lifeline as they struggle to get the text they have to say heard. Soaked, exhausted, but relieved, they manage to get out of this chaotic situation. With the invaluable support and complicity of the spectators who have come to share this unbridled theatre with them. A show that has fun defying the force of the elements and the codes of theatre.
