How to travel to Aix Island ?
All year round, departure from Fouras-les-Bains to Aix Island
You will reach Ile d'Aix by ferry from the end of the peninsula of Fouras-les-Bains. The island is a car-free zone, so you will have to board the ferry either on foot or by bike. Please also note that crossing hours depend on the tides.
During summertime, we advise you to take the first ferry in the morning to avoid the crownds of the next ferries.
Daily crossings are assured 365 days/year by the Maritime Service.
Beware that there is no cash dispenser on the island and that not all merchants accept payment by credit card. Do plan in ahead and withdraw some money beforehand on main land.
Please arrive at the pier 30 MINUTES BEFORE the ferry's departure time.
Please note! From February to May and from mid-September to the end of the year, works are planned on the Pointe de La Fumée.
Allow extra time to avoid missing your boat.
